A healthy, happy life

How easy, and at the same time how difficult it is, to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This morning I went to the supermarket to pick up a smoothie for my son. At the till there were two guys in front of me. Like regular, normal, adult guys. It is Monday morning, and one of the men bought himself a soft drink. The other getting himself an energy drink, a package of Paracetamol, nose spray and candy, to kickstart the new week. This really had me think how EASY it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Or at least how easy it can be. It always comes down to the habits we choose to inhabit. And this is always about making the right choices, and also about being willing to make the effort to change old habits when we discover that we need to start making new and better choices for ourselves. As life unfolds, the body changes, what we know about a healthy lifestyle changes, trends comes and goes, and we will have to change as we live through all the different seasons of life.

Also all of us, we have to define for ourselves what makes up a good and healthy lifestyle. There is not one recipe. I am still learning, testing, failing and trying. And then the years makes my needs different and I have to change and find other solutions. But there are a few things that I am quite certain that are essentials, if we wish to live a happy and healthy life.


  1. Movement. Make sure to move the body enough.

  2. Stillness. Spend some time without input, every day.

  3. 80% healthy food. Meaning we have to eat healthy most of the time, but also now and then allow ourselves to indulge on less healthy foods and drinks.

  4. Spend time with happy people. Laugh and have fun.

  5. Get some fresh air, spend time out in nature.

  6. To use good quality, clean products. This meaning cleaning products, skin care products, food ingredients and so on. Whenever possible choose natural.


It is also good for the mind to clear out any clutter. Surround yourself mainly with things and people that gives you good energy.


These are easy, simple steps to a good and healthy life. Are you ready to join?
